NA-133 by-polls: LHC to hear Jamshed Cheema's plea against rejection of candidature today

A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court headed by Justice Shahid Waheed will hear the appeal.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) headed by Justice Shahid Waheed will hear the appeal of PTI s Jamshed Iqbal Cheema and his wife Musarrat Cheema today (Thursday) against the rejection of their nomination papers for NA-133 by-elections, Dunya News reported.

Jamshed Cheema and his wife Musarat Cheema have approached the Lahore High Court through their lawyer Qazi Mubeen. They have filed the petition challenging the decisions of the Election Appellate Tribunal and the Returning Officer.

It is pertinent to mention here that the nomination papers of Jamshed Cheema and Musarat Cheema the proposer of Jamshed Iqbal Cheema and his wife Musarrat Jamshed Cheema was a resident of NA-130 and not from NA-133.

Under section 60 of the Election Act, the proposer should belong to the election’s constituency.
